Vox Talks
You know what I'd like to see? Vox developers telling war
stories. This project has obviously been a huge undertaking, and
to hear the people involved say what went right, what went wrong and
what they'd do differently would not only be entertaining, but hugely
educational. I'm about to start a huge Web project at work (and
it will include all the social/AJAXy hoo-ha that everybody's come to
expect) and I'd like to hear about which roads are dead ends and which
head straight off cliffs.

Hmmmm.... Definitely some great planning and strategy based upon team experience from past wars fought on LJ, TP, MT, and the various other projects. I'm sure a few stories shall be shared as official launch draws near.
I love the big post-game write-ups that Gamsutra does. I realize that you guys, y'know, have a business to run, but documenting some of what goes into a project like Vox would be hugely valuable, both as 6A history and as a snapshot of this particular time in the industry. Just taking oral histories and editing them could work well -- the commentary track for the Vox director's edition.
Speaking of which, has anybody seen the Fog Creek Aardvark documentary?
I'm with Greg on wanting to hear a little bit about how things went during the whole development process. That kind of stuff always fascinates me.
On an Aardvark related note, I've wanted to see that documentary since I first heard about it and saw the trailer, but I wasn't quite ready to shell out for a dvd of my very own. It would be cool if you could buy it on iTunes (or Google) video instead.
Heh, I realized yesterday that Aardvark'd is available on Google Video for only $4 so I went ahead and bought it. I really enjoyed it and I think you probably would as well.
Ah, cool! Thanks for the heads-up.
